Understanding the Rules When Writing Articles in the 3rd Person
What is involved when writing in the third person is when a story is narrated. Thus this kind of writing is referred to as the form in narrative.
Writing then in 3rd person would require an understanding first of what is the 1st person writing or not the narrative form of writing .
Writing situations then as if you are there yourself and describe it in the “I” point of view is the kind of writing in the 1st person perspective. To cite an example, your sentence will be written in this way, “The first time I saw her face, I thought she is really beautiful.”
The next type of writing is in the second person, and it is written to “you” as the point of view. Thus this form takes shape in some articles written like this sentence “If you want to know if the lady is beautiful, you might want to look at this picture.”
So, going back to the 3rd person writing, this is the situation when you are acting as the narrator, and the perspective is that you are not really part of the story. The events of the story can be given life in whatever setting or mode, depending on the narrator’s views of an event, and this is the liberating part of this form of writing. So as the 3rd person writing the story, you can make the story funny or sad, and even make up and write about the thoughts of the other character.
To help a writer follow the 3rd person writing path, there are some tips to consider.
The first tip is to decide the point of view that you want to tell about, like if you stay in one character’s point of view (or limited) or from all of the characters’ points of view (or omniscient).
The second guideline in this type of writing is in deciding the objective of your narration, and that is if you want to narrate only your character’s actions, or if you want to narrate both the actions and thoughts of your character. Be guided that your objective in third writing perspective is to account only the actions of the characters and not narrating any of the thoughts or feelings of the characters.
The third tip in writing in the third person perspective is the choosing of the voice of your character or characters, and this is considered the fun aspect in this type of writing. You have choices of your decision depending on how you will run your story, from having a character who is lunatic, or a someone from history, or make up your own person or group of persons to make up your characters.
